Building Engineer

The Building Engineer serves as the face of the company on-site by carrying out repair and maintenance and assisting in tenant relations.

ABOUT THIS POSITION

The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining an efficient operation of all building systems and to inform the Real Estate Manager and Chief Building Engineer of any condition affecting the building services, facility or client safety and comfort. The Building Maintenance Technician ensures that all maintenance needs for the building are completed or scheduled for completion. 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING/SKILLS REQUIRED

High school or GED equivalent.

Minimum four years and general building maintenance procedures and one year of maintenance management experience.

Demonstrated familiarity with building mechanical systems, HVAC and access control preferred.

Universal Technician Certification, CFC, Stationary Engineer Journeyman card and LME licensing preferred.

Experience with a computerized maintenance management system, Building Engines preferred.

General knowledge of codes, laws and regulations pertaining to the operation of a facility and understanding of blueprints and schematics.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Ability to operate power tools, power lifts, scaffolding, ladders and read digital meters and voltage testers. (See more below).

Ability to walk, climb, kneel, lift, crawl, squat, bend, and other physical actions to perform office-related activities. (See more below).

LICENSE/CERTIFICATE REQUIRED

Valid Oregon or Washington Driver’s License.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus; therefore the applicants must have 20/20 vision or wear glasses/contacts that bring their vision to 20/20.
