We shared a video earlier this year that announced the upcoming retirement of one of the company’s oldest tenured employees--our Senior Portfolio Accountant, Diane Hess. In that video, you hear Diane speak about the past three decades working at NAI Elliott and what moments defined her experiences over the years. It was rewarding to hear the full journey of her career, but particularly when she spoke to the turbulent moments in her life and how much the support and security of the office meant to her during those tough times.
This summer, we wanted to bring to life Diane’s vision of the perfect retirement party as a way to thank her for all the wonderful years together. This included inviting both family members and coworkers to the beautiful Lewisville Regional Park for a well-earned, albeit bittersweet celebration. We toasted to all the years of loyalty, dedication, mentorship, thoughtfulness--and of course, her incredible ability to always have a “bad” joke ready to end our meetings.
While enjoying our time together, President Jordan Elliott took a moment to speak on all that he’d learned from Diane over the years, her positive influence on the company, and how she’d will always be welcomed back should she ever feel the need to pick up the oar once more. Others attending also took time to share their favorite memory of Diane and what it’s been like working alongside her all the years. These stories often included tales of her unique ability to teach others in a such way that helped them better understand their work and in turn, help others do the same. It’s safe to say Diane’s legacy will continue to live on at NAI Elliott.
There were numerous touching memories shared throughout the evening, and of course, Lou cried--as is tradition at these types of events. It was a lovely celebration, and we want to thank Diane one more time for all the hard work, contagious enthusiasm and outstanding dedication throughout the years and we all wish you well on this next chapter in life!
